The PAPA Academic Scholarship is open to all Chicago Executive Pilots Association members. All applicants must be members of The Chicago Executive Pilot’s Association at the time of submitting their scholarship applications. Please be sure to include your CEPA membership number on the Official Application. You may apply for membership online here.
Applicant must be a full time student at an Illinois institution of higher education in any professional aviation program (flight, management, maintenance, avionics, etc.) having completed their first year of studies with at least a 2.5 GPA

Please submit your FULLY COMPLETED AND SIGNED application:
Submit one (1) application packet via email to the Scholarship Chair (scholarship@pwkpilots.org). In the subject line, please write “CEPA 2024 Scholarship Application – ACADEMIC“. Expect a confirmation of receipt within 24 hours.
Carefully review your application packet(s) to be certain that all required items are included in each packet.
Completed application packets must be RECEIVED BY May 1, 2024. Scholarship packets shall contain:
- Official application – signed and dated
- Copy of current legal ID (drivers license or other proof of permanent home address)
- Copies of all aviation certificates
- Copy of last 3 pages of pilot logbook (if applicable)
- Your essay (1 page) covering required information (additional information below)
- 1-page letter of recommendation from your student advisor
- 1-page letter of recommendation from an individual outside of aviation to attest to your character (and not a member of your family)
THE COMPLETED APPLICATION SHALL INCLUDE ALL FORMS AND DOCUMENTS IN ONE PDF, WITH THE 2 LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION AS THE LAST TWO PAGES.
Please be sure that your one-page essay addresses the following topics: aviation-related activities in which you participate; your initial interest in aviation; your aviation career goals (if any) and how this scholarship will help you attain those goals; any challenges or obstacles that you have overcome to start or continue your academic pursuits; how you plan to support the mission of Chicago Executive Pilots Association; what you feel uniquely qualifies you for this scholarship.
Scholarship winners will be notified on or before June 14, 2024.
All award money will be paid to the college, or training institution, as determined by the scholarship judges. Academic tuition or fees shall be applied and used by June 30, 2025.
Progress reports shall be provided to CEPA, Monthly on the 1st of each month following the notification of award. Neither CEPA nor their members, agents, or representatives, are responsible for the quality of training received.
