Line Up and Wait Phraseology Change

┬À Beginning September 30, 2010 , the words ÔÇ£Line Up and WaitÔÇØ will replace the words ÔÇ£Position and HoldÔÇØ to instruct a pilot to enter the runway to await take-off clearance. Under the new ÔÇ£Line Up and WaitÔÇØ phraseology, the controller will:

-      State your call-sign;

-      State the departure runway;

-┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á State ÔÇ£Line Up and WaitÔÇØ.

┬À Exercise Caution. Be aware the phrase ÔÇ£Traffic Holding in PositionÔÇØ will continue to be used to advise other aircraft that traffic has been authorized to ÔÇ£Line Up and WaitÔÇØ on an active runway.

┬À REMEMBER: ┬áNever cross a hold line without explicit ATC instructions.┬á You may not enter a runway unless you have been:

-      Instructed to cross or taxi onto that specific runway

-      Cleared to take off from that runway, or

-┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á Instructed to ÔÇ£Line Up and WaitÔÇØ on that specific runway.
