SUMMARY:*Postponed* IMC Club - April 2020 - Jason Schappert
DESCRIPTION:Due to the coronavirus COVID-19 and the lock-down status\, we must reschedule this meeting. Please check back from time-to-time for the rescheduled date.\n  \nCEPA welcomes back Jason Schappert. Jason makes his annual trip up north to Chicago\, risking possible cold weather. Jason brings with a new and interesting scenario\, we’ll all be solving this sticky situation. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nWhat would you do? \n \n  \nIMC Club: The IMC Club’s purpose is to promote instrument flying\, proficiency\, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share their perspective\, provide recognition\, foster communications\, promote safety\, and build proficiency in instrument flying. An IFR rating is not needed to participate in this excellent forum where we think through the various options from the comfort of your chair\, firmly on the ground… before it is you sitting in the cockpit. \nWe meet monthly when pilots (and would-be pilots) network and share knowledge and experiences to keep our heads in the game. \n \nSponsored by Chicago Executive Pilots Association (CEPA). \nIf you aren’t a member of CEPA\, please consider joining CEPA if you aren’t a member and like programs like this\, please visit us at www.PWKpilots.org/membership/  Your dues help pay for these safety seminars.

SUMMARY:CEPA IMC Club - Going Up or Down - January
DESCRIPTION:From the initial planning\, it was obviously not going to be a picturesque flight. There were weather systems around but they did seem manageable. Warren departs\, climbs to 8\,000 as he heads on course\, steps up to 11\,000 and then the fun begins\, first ice and then a whole colorful cocktail of weather in a very unusual pattern! Spoiler alert: a tornado is involved here. \nWhat would you do? \nSpeaker bio:  \nOur very own Warren Bruhl\, DC\, presents a flight he submitted to IMC Club. He is a practicing chiropractor\, wellness and health care professional. Warren started flying in 2015 and now holds a Commercial Single Engine Airplane certificate with an Instrument rating. He is hard at work getting his multi with his eye on an ATP. His plan is to transition to a full-time aviation career and is flying 300-plus hours per year! Warren is a board member and secretary of the Chicago Executive Pilots’ Association (CEPA). He also runs a not-for-profit charitable organization and does missionary work in Kenya\, teaching aviation topics to young\, eager students. \nIMC Club: The IMC Club’s purpose is to promote instrument flying\, proficiency\, and safety.

SUMMARY:IMC Club - Above the Clouds with a Dark PFD moderated by Max Trescott
DESCRIPTION:It is an early evening\, easy flight from Cleveland Lorraine County Regional (KLPR) to Nashville (KBNA). Not! This is an IMC Club meeting\, nothing happens without some kind of a problem and the opportunity for us to have a discussion about what circumstances our unfortunate pilot friend faces. What unfortunate problem? His PFD goes dark shortly after takeoff; ceilings are not good\, better weather ahead but how far? Yikes! So\, we’ll figure out our best answer to the infamous IMC Club question\, “what would you do?” \nSpeaker bio: Max Trescott is the 2008 National CFI of the Year. He’s heard around the world talking about general aviation each week on his Aviation News Talk podcast. \n  \nIMC Club: The IMC Club’s purpose is to promote instrument flying\, proficiency\, and safety. \nWe meet monthly when pilots (and would-be pilots) network and share knowledge and experiences to keep our head in the game.  \n \nNOTE: There is a Safety Meeting following this one.
