DESCRIPTION:All Chicagoland Flying Clubs\, Pilot Associations\, Flight Schools\, Airport Support Network Members\n \nYou are invited to represent your organization at a Town Hall Advocacy meeting hosted by the Chicago Executive Pilot Association (CEPA) and presented by Kyle Lewis (AOPA Government Affairs) and Andy Miller (AOPA You Can Fly). This Town Hall is designed to inform local pilot groups\, flying clubs\, airport associations\, and AOPA Airport Support Network Volunteers on the current national and local issues AOPA is working on a day to day basis. Airport advocacy\, regional legislative agendas\, and the growth of the pilot population will be discussed\, and there will be an opportunity for Q&A. \nPlease RSVP\, click here. \nThe Town Hall Advocacy meeting will start at 5:30. You can fly over to KPWK. Signature Flight Support has generously offered to waive ramp fees for this fly-in event; the hotel venue is 0.8sm walk but Signature will shuttle you over if you’d rather. \nIf you can’t make this meeting\, please send someone else to represent your organization. By all means\, share this with any and all other aviation-related organizations. \nFollowing the Town Hall Advocacy meeting will be the Chicago Executive Pilot Association PWK IMC Club\, “IFR Decision Making: Chasing Choices.” There will be WINGS credit for attendance. \nDirectly after the IMC Club meeting will be our Chicago Executive Pilot Association Safety Seminar\, “Weather Investigation” an AOPA Air Safety Institute seminar\, presented by Andy Miller. SUMMARY:CEPA IMC Club - IFR Decision Making-Chasing Choices - October 2020
DESCRIPTION:Processing information and making clear decisions while flying in IMC can be challenging. In this seminar we’ll analyze accident scenarios where stress and confusion in IMC can lead to task saturation\, problematic choices\, and suboptimal decisions. \nSeminar presenters and attendees will work together on analyzing and discussing various scenarios to be a safer\, more confident pilot. \n \nPresenter Bio: \nAndy Miller\, CFI\, AOPA Great Lakes Ambassador \nAndy is AOPA’s You Can Fly Ambassador for the Great Lakes Region.  He is a nationally recognized aviation educator; a lead representative in the FAA Safety Program\, an IMC Club leader\, and a member of both the National Association of Flight Instructors and the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators. He is also an aircraft owner and regularly flies Young Eagle and Angel Flight missions.   \nAndy is based in the Great Lakes and works with flying clubs\, flight schools\, aviation organizations\, and secondary schools to increase the number of active pilots. You’ll often find him traveling to events and meetings in one of the AOPA’s bright yellow “Reimaged Cessna 152s.” \n\nThe IMC Club’s purpose is to promote instrument flying\, proficiency\, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information\, provide recognition\, foster communications\, promote safety\, and build proficiency in instrument flying. IMC Club chapters offer monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences. \n\nIf you aren’t a member of CEPA\, please consider joining. Your dues help pay for these safety seminars. \nNOTE: There is an CEPA Safety Seminar prior to this one. Each has a separate registration. Please join us for both but be sure to register for both separately. \nPrior to attending a safety seminar please review and abide by current CDC\, State and Local health guidelines.
